On October 23, 2024, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Global Intellectual Property Alliance (GLIPA) and the Galaxea Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The event took place during the Innovation Seminar organized organized by Galaxea to Interpat, with support from Universidad El Bosque of Colombia and Universidad San Francisco de Quito of Ecuador, gathering key representatives in the intellectual property field to promote international cooperation and the advancement of the sector in Latin America.
Present at the signing were Maria Fernanda Hurtado, Executive Director of GLIPA; Gonzalo Rovira, GLIPA Chair for the LATAM Region; Alicia Daniel-Shores, founder of the Galaxea Foundation; and Roberto Ribeiro, Academic Director of the Galaxea Foundation.
The partnership between GLIPA and the Galaxea Foundation aims to enhance the development of academic initiatives and training programs to build capacity in the field of intellectual property. Furthermore, the MOU establishes a joint commitment to promote multidisciplinary analyses, involving researchers, professors, professionals, and students with expertise in their fields, fostering an environment of knowledge exchange and innovation in the region.
The event marked a significant step toward building national and international connections. “This reinforces the mission of both institutions to foster networks of collaboration among stakeholders from various parts of the world, connected by a shared vision of development and advancement in the field of intellectual property” stated Alicia Daniel-Shores, founder of the Galaxea Foundation.
